How to position your brand
What everyone is telling you, but nobody shows you
Ok, quick introduction.
I have been on Twitter for 8 months.
I have tried every way to build an audience:
Did follow4follow
Made “amazing content”
Changed my profile 10s times
Just to tell you that I’m not one of these gurus.
All of them suck.
I helped people and iterated on feedback.
Add got a ton of support from them.
Benjamin Law on Twitter is just an example among others.
“Ok, but what makes you different Adam”
The difference? Simple.
Unless others, I deliver.
So let’s position your brand in 4 steps: (actionable plan at the end)
You need a “WHY”
Most people seem to forget it.
And don’t tell me it’s “money”. Because money itself has never fulfilled anyone.
Seriously.
If you don’t have a “why” you can use that formula:
Start with what you want, then want you DON’T want.
Let’s start with me:
Wants: “I want to be independent of my family. I want to travel around the world whenever I feel it with my friend. I want to share my journey with ambitious and kind people. I want to be free like a bird.”
Don’t wants: “I don’t want people to tell me what I should do to earn my living. I don’t want a boss to have total control over my life. I don’t want to live with my parent till I’m 30.”
See?
Now I have multiple reasons to keep building my dream audience.
Because whenever I want to quit I remember “Do I want a 9-5?”
Onto the next:
Align your why with your VISION
Okay, you have a WHY, cool?
Not enough.
You need to make this why realistic. And what’s the best way to do that?
A clear vision, exactly.
Find this scale to reach your purpose.
Here is mine:
Building an audience on Twitter (like anyone here). Monetize through (coaching, and product like you).
But where it becomes interesting is when you start to dig further
Making connections
Hopping on calls
Form a pod
Start building the roadmap of your brand, and see your growth skyrocket
Your core message
The first 2 were a bit like “find a sense to your life” I acknowledge.
But now we’re eating the meat.
What do you to be known for?
Helping people reach freedom?
The finance expert who makes people better traders
The old entrepreneur teaching his most important lesson?
It’s your choice.
But choose wisely.
For my part, I want to be known as the guy who doesn’t hold back the value and helps people to build their empire.
How? I got you man.
Let’s see:
The action plan
The reason you are here.
You want actionable advice.
And I understand.
I’m gonna be straight, this one is for you:
Questions to answer:
→ What do you bring when other people don’t?
→ What are you helping people with?
→ Who’s your ICP?
Start with these questions, they are simple but very efficient.
Free action plan:
Profile Optimization
→ Banner: Statement of your brand
→ Profile pic: Clear headshot of your face with 1-color background
→ Bio: Deep intro of your brand, expertise, your uniqueness, external link, your offer
→ Pinned tweet: A presentation of your brand/ You story/ A plan you’re going to follow/ A premium thread.
Networking:
→ 5-10 DMs/day
→ 50 comments a day. Close, mid, wide circle.
→ 3 networking calls a week, 1 prospect a week (once you have something to bring)
Content creation:
→ 1 motivational post (morning)
→ 1 value post (noon)
→ 1 Entertainment post (afternoon)
→ Bonus: Authority post (testimonial, case study, follow from a big account)
→ 2 threads/week
Remember, everything you need is to be you.
Do cool sh!ts, go outside.
But keep in my this: “A great brand is an unforgettable one.”
